| why
start racing? |
Martin Booker is a keen biker that wanted to take his passion for
bikes and motorsport to the next level. Encouraged by those around
him, Martin started doing trackdays in 2002 on a company owned Honda
VFR 400 track bike and thoroughly enjoyed it even though his first
attempt was at a wet and windy Pembrey circuit in Wales.
He didn't need a great deal of persuading when the idea was put
to him to compete in the KRC Endurance championship in 2004. It
was supposed to be a one off, a 8 hour race at Snetterton, but having
done one race plans were made to do another in 2005 & 2006.

The frustration of only managing to get everybody together for
one race a year which meant very little track time each year,
pushed him towards the club racing scene. Having supported a friend
and fellow racer at a couple of Bemsee meetings, Martin decided
to build a suitable bike to compete in the Rookie 600 championship
in 2007 and had a great time. In 2008 he competed in the
MRO Supersport 600 championship but in 2009 Martin was unable
to compete due to lack of funds.
