Martin Booker - rider |
|

|
The rider in the team is Martin Booker, a digital retoucher and
exhibition graphics producer from Worthing in West Sussex.
Martin
is a keen biker (mainly fair weather Sunday mornings!) and owns
a road going Kawasaki ZX6-R and recently restored BSA Bantam.
He
has always enjoyed competing at sport and was a memeber of the
Great Britain National Shooting Squad, representing the country
several times and played for several badminton clubs at
local league level. He now plays tennis and is regulary seen
mountain biking over the South Downs.
Martin not only
rides but does all of his own bike preparation, where possible,
including the painting.

Gary Collins - team manager/mechanic |
|
|
Cartographer Gary Collins has been supporting Martin since the first
endurance race in 2004. A big motorsport fan, Gazza was keen to
help out where ever he could at the endurance weekends and took
on the team manager role.
With that experience behind him he joined Martin to form Boysie
racing and now has a much changed role, turning his hand to mechanics,
refuelling, cooking and anything that needs doing over the course
of a race weekend.
Gary will join the team again for the 2010 season if he can.

Claire Booker - biggest supporter |
|
|
Claire or Mrs Booker as she is known has supported and encouraged
Martin from the start and was part of the endurance team in 2004,
5 and 6, taking on the role as timekeeper which involved many hours
of standing on the pit wall having bikes race past continuously.
There is less of a requirement for timekeeping in the shorter sprint
races, so Claire now takes on the more supportive and patience role
with a bit of catering and tea making thrown in!
She is married to a racer, so will be there in 2010 in some shape
or form.
